What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain Veneers are the ultimate cosmetic treatment to transform your smile. They are handcrafted ultra-thin porcelain shells that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth.
Porcelain veneers require minimal tooth preparation and are the most effective way to create a natural, straighter and more youthful smile. Porcelain veneers can be used to treat the following concerns:
- Missing teeth
- Short or misshaped teeth
- Discoloured teeth that don’t respond to conventional whitening techniques
- Chipped/fractured teeth
- Misaligned or Crooked teeth
After careful smile analysis and design, your teeth are minimally prepared, an impression is taken, and temporary veneers are placed. At a second appointment 2-3 weeks later, your final veneers are bonded to your teeth.
What is the difference between Porcelain and Composite Resin Veneers?
Veneers can be made from either a porcelain material, or with a composite material.
Hand-layered, glass porcelain veneers can produce stunning 3D optical aesthetic results. However, in some cases porcelain veneers are not required and a beautiful, aesthetically pleasing result can be achieved with composite material which can be cheaper and less time consuming. Your dentist will discuss all cosmetic treatment options with you after careful evaluation of your smile, treatment preferences and budget.
